Duties included surveying, mapping the site, site identification, designation of excavation units, hand excavation, recording sites and feature descriptions, identification and recordation of both prehistoric and historic artifacts. Laboratory duties included artifact analysis and curation. Report production duties included writing site narratives, filling out site forms, organizing and cataloguing photographs, and artifact illustration.

 

  • A Cultural Resource Inventory for the Rio Grande and Rio Chama Wild and Scenic River Corridors, Taos County, NM . A cultural resource inventory of 2048.72 acres. 78 sites were identified and recorded. Cultural resources encountered include: Paleo-Indian, Early to Late Archaic, Basketmaker II to Pueblo III, Folsom/Midland, Pre-Pueblo Revolt to Post-Pueblo Revolt, Historic 1900 to Present.

 

  • Monitoring/Testing at Two Previously Recorded Sites, Grants Ridge, Inc., McKinley County, NM. 56 test drills were performed across two previously recorded sites. Monitored drilling and inspected back dirt from drill sites. No cultural material was encountered.

 

  • Class III Cultural Resource Survey of 147.47 Acres in Section 30, Township 13 N, Range 9 W for Grants Ridge Inc., McKinley County, NM. Three sites were identified and recorded. Cultural resources encountered included: Pueblo III Ancestral Pueblo/Anasazi, Anglo/Euroamerican.

 

  • Approximately Two Miles of Monitoring for BLM Road Construction Near Grants, Cibola County, NM. Monitored road construction activity near archaeological sites within the project area.

 

  • Cultural Resource Inventory of 640 Acres for the Pena Ranch Project, McKinley County, NM. Eight sites were identified and recorded, including both prehistoric and historic. Cultural resources encountered include: Pueblo II to Pueblo IV Anasazi/Ancestral Pueblo, U.S. Territorial Hispanic, Hispanic New Mexico Statehood to Recent Hispanic.

 

  • Cultural Resource Inventory for the Access Road, Roca Honda Project, McKinley and Cibola Counties, NM. A cultural resource inventory of 46.86 acres. Three new archaeological sites were identified and recorded including both prehistoric and historic artifacts. Cultural resources encountered include Pueblo I to Pueblo III Anasazi/Ancestral Pueblo (A.D. 700 to A.D. 1300, Unknown Historic (A.D. 1930 to A.D. 1963).

 

  • A Cultural Resource survey for the Caprock 3-D Seismic, Lea and Chavez Counties, NM. A cultural resource survey of 12,904 acres. 122 sites identified and recorded. Cultural resources encountered were Archaic, Early to Late Folsom/Midland Paleoindian, Jornada Mogollon, Early Pithouse to Late Pueblo Phase; Anglo/Euro-American NM WWII to Recent Hispanic U.S. Territorial.

 

  • Class III Cultural Resource Survey for the Sally Chisum 3-D Seismic, Chaves County, NM. A cultural resource survey of 4,817.83 acres. Fifty-eight sites identified and recorded. Cultural resources encountered included: Paleoindian, Late Archaic to Early Pithouse Jornada Mogollon, Early to Late Pueblo Jornada Mogollon, Anglo-Euroamerican U.S. Territorial to New Mexico Statehood to WWII to Recent Historic.

 

  • A Class III Cultural Resource Survey of the Permian Basin, MOA Area, Chavez and Eddy Counties, NM. A cultural resource survey of 3,358.91 acres. Ninety-six archaeological sites were identified and recorded. Cultural resources encountered include: Paleoindian through Late Pueblo Jornada Mogollon (12,000 B.C. to A.D. 1500);Late Archaic to Early Pithouse (100B.C. to A.D. 900); Early to late Archaic (4500 B.C. to 1500 B.C.), U.S. Territorial Euroamerican (A.D. 1869); Unknown Historic (A.D. 1900 to A.D. 1965)

 

  • Data Recovery for LA 60977, Proposed Municipal Airport Expansion in Moriarty, Torrance County, NM.

 

  • Cultural Resource Survey of 14.55 Acres along Pre-Existing Roads in Cibola County, NM. Cultural resources encountered included: Middle Archaic to Late Archaic (2500 B.C. to 400 B.C.; Unknown Aboriginal (9500 B.C. to A.D. 1860).
