Swansea University - College of Arts and Humanities
Introduction:
The College of Arts and Humanities invites applications for an AHRC Research Preparation Master's studentship in Celtic Studies.
About the project:
The new Master's by Research is ideal for those who would like to do a research degree without committing themselves to a PhD. Students on this programme can study full or part time, are examined solely on the basis of a 30,000 word thesis.
Celtic Studies at Swansea is explicitly inter-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and comparative in approach, examining the very notions of 'Celticity' and Celtic identity. It benefits from links with Swansea's Centre for the History of Wales and its Borderlands, a lively research culture and the expertise of members of staff in other parts of the University and the ready availability of research resources.
Applicants interested in undertaking a Master's by Research in Celtic Studies are encouraged to explore the research expertise of members of staff to ensure a good fit between Research proposals and potential supervisors. For more details visit www.swansea.ac.uk/artsandhumanities
Our research students are supervised by leading international scholars and have access to skills and training programmes at College and Institutional levels. Potential applicants are most welcome to contact the Graduate Centre admissions team for more details and advice on designing a research proposal (contact details below).
Candidate eligibility:
Applicants must have an upper second class Honours degree from an AHRC approved HE institution.
