Accused Utah artifacts trafficker avoids prosecution

Federal prosecutors have agreed to drop charges against a noted Blanding resident accused of stealing and trafficking artifacts from public lands if he stays off of tribal and federal lands and violates no laws for a year.
Harold Lyman was among two dozen suspects, mostly from San Juan County, indicted after a federal sting operation using a former artifacts dealer as an undercover operative.
